Dr. Azim is a talented and emerging researcher in the field of materials science and engineering, currently serving as a postdoctoral fellow at the Key Laboratory of the Ministry of Education & International Center for Dielectric Research at Xi’an Jiaotong University, China. He is also an integral part of the Zhejiang (Shaoxing) High-Level Foreign Expert Innovation Center. His research interests focus on multifunctional polymer composite materials, metallic fiber-based polymer metacomposites, high-frequency measurements, and their applications in various industries. With a strong background in design, fabrication, and characterization of advanced materials, Dr. Azim specializes in 3D printed magnetic and dielectric materials, as well as integrating micro/nanomaterials with electromagnetic properties for innovative solutions. His work is particularly influential in the fields of structural health monitoring, energy storage, dielectric materials, and microwave absorption for bioimplantation.
Dr. Azim obtained his Ph.D. in Materials Physics & Chemistry from the School of Materials Science & Engineering at Zhejiang University in 2020. He holds a Master’s degree with Honors in Nanotechnologies & Microsystems from the National University of Science & Technology “MISiS” in Russia and a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering from PAF-KIET, Pakistan.
Throughout his academic journey, Dr. Azim has received several prestigious scholarships, including the Chinese Government Scholarship, Russian Government Scholarship, and Presidential Honor Scholarship. He has authored and co-authored over 30 peer-reviewed papers in high-impact international journals and conferences, with more than 80% of these publications appearing in Q1 journals. His work has collectively garnered an impact factor exceeding 150, with an H-index of 15. Dr. Azim was recognized with the Young Researcher Award 2023 at the 12th Asian-Australasian Conference on Composite Materials (ACCM12) by the Chinese Society of Composite Materials (CSCM) for his significant contributions to the field of composite materials.
In addition to his research, Dr. Azim is actively involved in fundraising and serves as a scientific advisor to industrial and business entrepreneurship projects. He is a co-investigator in a joint research project between the Pakistan Science Foundation (PSF) and the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) China. This collaborative project aims to develop a high-sensitivity, miniaturized, and portable bio-Giant Magnetoimpedance (GMI) sensor and electronic system for blood-assay and pathogen detection, showcasing his ability to address complex challenges in materials science and engineering. Dr. Azim’s innovative research and contributions to both academia and industry continue to have a significant impact on advancing the application of advanced materials in various fields.
